What is ECoach?
ECoach was developed at the University of Michigan; the platform allows faculty and researchers to create personalized content for students based on exam scores, survey responses, and overall participation in the course. This platform enables the distribution of personalized messages to students at critical times in the quarter, such as prior and post-exams. The messages students receive focus on how to study- including time management, review of past exams, and effective communication with professors.
Over the past five years, ECoach has been available to 10,284 students at UCSB. Student engagement with ECoach varies by course, but over 72% use ECoach regularly when it is offered.

ECoach for Instructors
The CITRAL team works with faculty to develop messages and to-do lists that can guide students throughout the quarter. We are happy to guide instructors in developing their own content, or alternatively, we can draft the content in consultations with the instructors. |

Students who are enrolled in courses that use ECoach are automatically enrolled in the specific ECoach. Student engagement with ECoach varies by course, but over 72% use ECoach regularly when it is offered. Studies have shown that students regularly use Ecoach when course instructors discuss the value of the platform in their course. |
