Purpose and Goals of TO CoP
UCSB supports high-quality, student-centered instruction across modalities. Teaching online often presents unique challenges and opportunities. The Office of Teaching and Learning has created a community of practice to connect instructors teaching online courses with resources and peer support. The goals of this group are:
To facilitate peer-to-peer support and discussion of best practices.
To enable focused communications from university stakeholders.
To provide relevant professional development and resources.

Facilitators
Dana Shreaves, Instructional Designer, Office of Teaching and Learning
Mindy Colin, Associate Director of Digital Pedagogy, Office of Teaching and Learning
Elena Raymond, Teaching Professor, Director of Undergraduate Studies, Department of Sociology
Participate in the TO-CoP Google Group
The Google Group will be used to asynchronously communicate and share content with the larger community. Admitted members engage in conversations using the group message board.
TO-CoP Zoom Meetings
Bi-weekly meetings provide an opportunity for members of the CoP to discuss issues of teaching and learning in real time. We invite members of the community to informally share their experiences and support colleagues with similar interests and goals. The CoP meets every other Friday at 9:00 AM via Zoom.
Teaching Online Resources
The Office of Teaching and Learning provides support and resources for new and experienced online instructors. The Teaching Online - Resources page provides access to support materials for new and continuing online instructors.
